Only One Mother…

During school today, we read this poem in my 7 year old son’s reader.  I just loved the eloquence of this poem.  I also loved the eternal reminder of how important we moms (and dads)are in our children’s lives.  There is only one mother for my children, and I’m it.  God must have saw something good in me to give me the responsibility of these 4 precious boys.  He must have also saw something amazing in my husband.  What a job we have!!  I pray each day that I can live up to the Godly mother I want to be for my children.  It takes a lot of work I tell you.  Bible reading & prayer have come to be my companion.  Without them I would surly be lost in this huge endeavor.

I have found on this mom-endeavor that I REALLY need patience.  My grandmother used to say, “Patience is a virtue I wish I had more of.”  Oh, how I can echo that now.  It is my struggle.  I have other struggles going through me right now.  We all do don’t we?  Pray about whatever it is that is hindering you from being the mother you want to be.  Ask God for His peace in the situation, and have FAITH that He will answer, someday, somehow.  You count more to God than anything in His creation.  Matthew 6:25-26 , “If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds.”

God chose YOU to be the mother of your children…live in HIS power. 🙂

Only One Mother

Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky;

Hundreds of shells on the shore together;

Hundreds of birds that go singing by;

Hundreds of bees in the sunny weather;

Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn;

Hundreds of lambs in the purple clover;

Hundreds of butterflies on the lawn-

But only one mother the wide world over.
